Munn was the associate general director and director of Nursing at MGH, serving the hospital from 1984 to 1993. In her career she held leadership positions at six other hospitals. Munn was known for her commitment to research-based practices in nursing. The Munn Center for Nursing Research was dedicated in her honor in 2008.
