Sundial dedicated to nursing at MGH

In 2004, sculptor Nancy Schön, renowned for her Make Way for Ducklings sculpture in Boston’s Public Garden, dedicated this piece to nursing at MGH. The figures represent the past, present and future of nursing. The piece bears the Florence Nightingale quote “Nursing is an Art; the finest of the Fine Arts” and a quote from Ruth Sleeper, RN, the MGH School of Nursing’s director from 1946 to 1966: “Always, always more to see, more to learn, more to do…to improve both care and cure.”
